During this cleanup, 10 enthusiastic participants collected a total of 312.46 kg of waste out of which over 80 kg of plastics were sent to Parley Maldives for closed-loop recycling. The remaining general waste was sent to the Waste Management Company (WAMCO).

The area designated for the cleanup was adjacent to the sea with a breakwater, and the participants observed various kinds of waste washed up on the breakwater and accumulated in the surrounding area, mainly PET plastic bottles of 500ml and 5 liters. Other types of waste collected included plastic wrappers, laundry detergent bottles, footwear, plastic containers and cans.

PROMISE aims to collect 1000 tonnes of litter from the Lakshadweep shorelines of the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India by the end of the project. This event was one out of the many beach clean-ups to be conducted in the Maldives under the project, to spread more awareness on marine litter prevention.
