  • PROMISE Project Spurs sustainability: Enterprises Witness Resource Savings and Skill Enhancement

    The PROMISE project has now entered a stage where the enterprises are already witnessing effective and efficient results in the form of resource and monetary savings from the recommendations provided to them by the project teams. The recommendations have led to results such as waste minimization, decreased energy consumption, and lower water usage within the enterprises.

  • PROMISE: Lakshadweep Zero-Waste Alliance Workshop

    An online workshop was held on 9 & 10 May 2023 to discuss the framework of the Lakshadweep Zero Waste Alliance (LOWA).  The participants were from Maldives, Sri Lanka and India, representing NGOs, government agencies, academics and waste management-related enterprises. 

  • INDIA: Prevention of Marine Litter Conference and 2023 PROMISE Sustainability Awards

    Prevention of Marine Litter Conference and 2023 PROMISE Sustainability Awards was organized as part of the PROMISE project on 30 May 2023, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The key focus of the conference was the sharing of best practices in tackling marine litter across the countries of the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India. The 2023 PROMISE Sustainability Awards recognised the initiatives taken by enterprises in the tourism industry to minimize waste at their premises. 

  • PROMISE: Marine Litter Workshop on World Environment Day 2023

    On World Environment Day 2023, STENUM Asia in collaboration with Crowne Plaza Hotel at Kochi organized a virtual workshop on Marine Litter.

    35 volunteers from different departments of Crowne Plaza Hotel participated in the workshop which was facilitated by Vikas Singh (Associate Principal) and Shreya Pakrashi (Consultant) from STENUM Asia.

  • INDIA: Beach Clean-up, Kovalam, Kerala

    The PROMISE project team in India in association with Positive Change for Marine Life celebrated Earth Day 2023 by conducting a two-day (21 and 22 April) beach clean-up drive at Kovalam Beach, Kerala. A total of 65 volunteers collected 550 kg of waste over the two days. On the first day, the volunteers consisted majorly of scuba divers, school, and college students.

  • INDIA: Beach Cleanup, Fort Kochi, Kerala

    The Fort Kochi beach clean-up event successfully took place on 11 February 2023 in association with Ms Aparna Mulberry (Social media content creator) and Djunk, a waste management company.
